Talking.
That’s pretty much all I did when I was growing up. My parents and my teachers
would throw their hands up in the air and shake their heads at me. My sisters
would chase after me trying to put their hands over my mouth. Still I couldn’t
stop. Years later, not to anybody’s surprise, I excitedly decided that
communication was the only field perfect enough for me to study at college. I
loved letting people know what was going on in the world, what they should
think about and know about.
Challenges. In school I would easily become bored with the simple tasks assigned to us. I always asked; where was the problem? What did I have to solve? Many teachers would give me that annoyed blank stare, not sure what to make of this talkative student who oddly wanted more work. I love working towards something, seeing results and having to put forth effort and thought to achieve those results. I knew that I couldn’t do just anything. I had to do something that would require something of me.
Public Relations. Considering my love for communication and my love for challenges and problem-solving there was no question as to what career I wanted to pursue in communication. I loved the idea of solving problems for clients, of getting to write as much as I wanted, of communicating with so many different types of people all day long. It is my new passion, combining all the passions that I’ve ever had growing up. Public Relations is a career that I was made for me.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
